Ray Calderon - Chorus Master
Ray Calderon has made appearances with Berkshire Opera, Bardavon Opera, Jacksonville Lyric Opera, Opera Ischia (Italy), Bronx Opera, Crescendo, Light Opera Company of Salisbury, American Opera Preview, The Greater Middletown Chorale, The Berkshire Chorale Festival and at Lincoln Center. Having served on the faculty of Bronx House School of Performing Arts, Martina Arroyo’s “Prelude to Performance” and as vocal coach for the Greater Middletown Chorale, he has also appeared as a guest accompanist at the Hartt School of Music, guest organist and conductor at Holy Family Church, NY, and First Church of Christ in historic Wethersfield, CT. He was personally selected to conduct the Opera Scenes Performance Concert at Manhattan School of Music by Mignon Dunn and recently conducted the Gloria by Vivaldi marking the New York debut of the Greater Middletown Chorale.
Mr. Calderon holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance and a B.M. in Music Education from the Hartt School of Music as well as a M.M. from Manhattan School of Music. He currently serves as General and Artistic Director of the Light Opera Company of Salisbury, Principle Conductor for Amore Opera, Music Director of Trinity Lutheran Church NY, and was appointed Associate Conductor to Martina Arroyo’s, “Prelude to Performance” in 2009.
